Background
The Scott College of Nursing (Scott CON) was established in 1961 and it is located in Morija, on the outskirts of Maseru City. The College is owned by the Lesotho Evangelical Church in Southern Africa (LECSA). Scott CON is a respected institution of higher learning, providing accredited programs in Certificate in Nursing Assistant, Diploma in Nursing, and Diploma in Midwifery. These programs have been accredited by the Lesotho Nursing Council (LNC) and the Council on Higher Education (CHE) Lesotho.
Role Purpose
Scott CON is looking for qualified and experienced individuals who are interested in contributing to the College’s academic direction, teaching, and research on voluntary basis. Key Responsibilities During Volunteering
- Contribute to programme reviews and development
- Participate in approval of teaching courses and academic programmes
- Provide an oversight on teaching, learning, research and community engagement activities
- Participate in monitoring of academic standards, values and quality assurance
- Attend to emerging issues in the higher education sector and assess potential implications for the College
- Propose changes to academic policies
Time Commitment
Regular meetings of the Academic Senate shall take place quarterly in an academic year. Special and emergency meetings may be called as per need.

Analytical, collaborative and communication skills
Qualifications
- Professor in any Health Sciences course from an accredited University (*2) with senate experience
- PhD holder in any Health Sciences course from an accredited College or University (*1) with senate experience

Reporting Structure
The Senate reports directly to the College Council.
