CONSULTING SERVICES – INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT (IC) SELECTION
The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho has received financing from the African Development Fund and the Global Environment Facility-Least Developed Countries Fund (GEF LCDF) and provided Counterpart funding toward the cost of the Lesotho Lowlands Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project (LLRWSSP) implemented through the Ministry of Natural Resources, and intends to apply part of the funds for the payments under the contract for the consulting services for the Climate Change and Adaptation Expert.
The objective of the consultant is to support the implementation of the Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) component of the LLRWSSP and ensure that all the climate change adaptation measures are mainstreamed during implementation for sustainability of the project.
The Ministry of Natural Resources now invites eligible Individual Candidates to indicate their interest in providing the above-mentioned Services. Interested Candidates should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.
The selection criteria include:
- Master’s degree or higher in one of the following relevant fields: Climate Change, Environmental Sciences, Meteorology, Natural Sciences, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering or Energy. At least ten (10) years of practical working experience in areas related to climate change impacts, vulnerability and adaptation assessments and project implementation.
- Good technical Expertise in formulation of adaptation projects, programmes, plans, strategies; resources/financing mechanism for adaptation projects/climate resilient policies in developing countries. Familiarity with National Communications, National Adaptation Programme of Action (NAPA) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) of Lesotho. Knowledge of National Climate Change Policy 2017 and knowledge of best practices in vulnerability/adaptation/international developments (UNFCCC, IPCC etc.)
Interested candidates are required to submit their detailed updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) together with educational certificates, Expression of Interest (EOI) and Reference Letters from at least three (3) referees to the address below:
The contract will be for the period of ten (10) months.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Framework, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org
