2019 Aid Innovation Challenge (€1000 Grant to develop your invention)

Application Deadline: 27th September 2019.

Are you an innovator with a passion to help improve the efficient delivery of aid?

Whether you are a design agency, engineering company or individual, the AidEx Aid Innovation Challenge invites applicants eager to showcase a concept or product that can save or improve lives.

It is a unique chance to pitch life-changing inventions to a panel of experts from the sector live at AidEx in Brussels on 13 November 2019
– the leading exhibition and conference of its kind which attracts over
2,600 professionals from the aid and development community.

AidEx is the leading platform for professionals in humanitarian aid and
international development. There are two annual events; our flagship
conference and exhibition in Brussels and a regional conference in
Nairobi. AidEx welcomes professionals from the sector and over 2,500
people attend each year from UN Agencies, the EU, Red Cross and Red
Crescent Societies, local and international NGOs, government and the
private sector.

In tough economic times, agencies are increasingly relying on new innovations that will save them time and money to counterbalance their shrinking budgets and resource pools. Every year one of the highlights at AidEx is the Dragons’-Den style pitching session and ultimate unveiling of the winner of the coveted Aid Innovation Challenge, a competition in which innovators reveal their newest inventions for the aid and humanitarian sector.

Each year the AidEx Steering Committee
discuss a topic that the event should focus on to make sure it remains
current and delivers what our visitors and suppliers need. Our past
conference themes have included Localisation, Sustainable Development,
Innovation and Collaboration. The 2018 theme was ‘Revolution in the
digital age: safeguarding a future for all. How can technology
contribute to a positive social impact?’

The 2019 conference theme will tackle: The importance of inclusiveness to global progress – is the aid and development sector doing enough?

Enter the Aid Innovation Challenge to be in with a chance of winning €1000 plus a free stand at AidEx 2020 equivalent to €3,500.

Deadline for entry is 27th September 2019.
