World Investment Forum under the theme “Investing in Sustainable Development”


The Ministry of Trade and Industry wishes to inform the private sector that UNCTAD has organized World Investment Forum under the theme “Investing in Sustainable Development,” which will be held in Geneva, Switzerland from 22 -26 October 2018. This investment forum is held every two years.  The Hon. Minister, Mr. Tefo Mapesela (MP) will host a press conference on 1st October, 2018 at LNDC, Block B, Level 7 at 10:00 on this forum and importance of  private sector participation.

The forum presents a platform to network for the private sector with other business partners around the globe.  This forum is designed to address the challenges pertaining to investment and focusing on the issues of globalization and industrialization of which Lesotho deems a priority with regards to development.

There will also be sessions on entrepreneurship, special economic zones, regional integration just to mention but a few.

There are sessions that are organized for the private sector sessions and a country specific villages where there will be representative to highlight each country investment climate and how the investment opportunities can be harnessed.

Interested businesses to participate on this important should note that deadline for registration is 12th OCTOBER, 2018.

It is against this background, that the Ministry cannot overemphasize how imperative it is for private sector to attend to broaden their knowledge on international investments and to meet with other business leaders from other countries and also engage on the private sector solutions for Sustainable Development.
