FACULTY:                  HUMANITIES

DEPARTMENT:         AFRICAN LANGUAGES AND LITERATURE (ALL)

POST NO. 3654:          LECTURER/ SENIOR LECTURER

The Translation and Interpreting section within the Department of African Languages and Literature seeks to appoint a lecturer/senior lecturer in Translation and /or Interpreting.  The Applicant should be able to teach the following courses at undergraduate: Lexicography, Terminology, Editing, Translation and Interpreting Theory and Practice, Phonetics, Phonology, Semantics, Morphology, Sociolinguistics and Sesotho Language Proficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

    PhD in African Languages and Linguistics with a major in Translation and /or Interpreting

    Evidence of research and teaching in an institution of higher learning

Duties

    Teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students

    Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research

    Research

    Community service engagement

    Perform other duties required by the Department

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:

Permanent and pensionable for locals, gratuitable for expatriates.
