POST NO. 1650:               LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER

The Department of French at the National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in French Language or Teaching French as a Foreign Language.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

a)       The applicant must hold a minimum of Master’s degree in French Language or Teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE) or a related area;

b)       A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at tertiary level for lecturers and 4 years for senior lecturers, plus a record of 3 or more publications;

c)       The ability to work effectively within an established team environment;

d)       Excellent interpersonal, organisational, communication and presentational skills.

e)       The candidate should have demonstrable ability to develop new programmes and to review the ones already running to assist in the successful completion and implementation of Semesterisation process.

f)        Experience in supervision of research at both undergraduate and graduate levels;

The successful candidate will be expected to do the following:

Teaching and assessment of both theoretical and practical components of courses; Supervision of research at both undergraduate and graduate levels;

Consultation with students and the broader learning community;
Participation in appropriate projects and committees, and
Undertake research and publish in their area of specialisation.

The successful candidate will be expected to assume duty as soon as possible after the closing date for applications.
