The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in collaboration with the Ministry of Development Planning wishes to invite legible and qualified companies to undertake 1) feasibility study for the transformation of the Lesotho Agricultural College to a University College and 2) to carryout Lesotho Agricultural College Infrastructural development Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has received funding from the Ministry of Development planning to carry out a detailed feasibility study for the full governance, Academic programming and infrastructural transformation of the Lesotho Agricultural College (LAC) into a University College compliant with the terms and conditions of the Higher Education Act 2004. The feasibility study should determine the extent at which the LAC is to be transformed to enable its increased relevance as an institution of higher education and learning in Lesotho, to determine the relevance and ability of its programs deliveries as well its outreach systems to impact the rural people of Lesotho. In addition and through a detailed stakeholder consultation, the study should determine the time schedule of implementation of the transformed programs.
In pursuit of the foregoing objective, the study must identify infrastructural developments to assist the college to guide its strategic direction, create conducive teaching and learning environment and improve its effective operations by putting up infrastructure that will enable it to respond to the agricultural developments and aspirations of the country.
Interested consultancy companies/firms and or individuals are to 1) obtain their bid documents from the Procurement office situated the Ministry of Agriculture headquarters and to 2) forward their bids to the Ministry of Agriculture Tender box situated at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security Head Quarters situated at No. Constitution Road, Maseru, on or before 16 October 2018 at 14:00 hrs. The bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders or their representatives on 16 October 2018 at 14:00 hrs.
