Job Purpose

  1. Execute duties on Day/Night shift as per set schedule and perform daily checks per checklists
  2. Perform Finacle End of Day/Start of Day procedures.
  3. Produce reports for Business as detailed in End of Day procedures.
  4. Document and report all system problems to Shift Leader.
  5. Perform routine back-up and restore procedures on the legacy system.
  6. Monitor the core system and report any anomalies to Shift Leader.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Perform Finacle End of Day/Start of Day procedures for all systems
  • Check and ensure that Control M and Windows servers are operational always.
  • Ensure that all related systems to CORE are fully functional.
  • Monitor connectivity of Branches to CORE system and liaise with Branch Systems Administrators  where Branches have been off-line.
  • Monitoring tools to be monitored and confirm that transactions are passing through smoothly.
  • Ensure maximum uptime on DC facility through daily checks and providing reports to Shift Leaders indicating any faults that may exists.
  • Provide Branches with Systems Support where possible in liaison with Branch Support Officers.
  • Document and report all system error messages, without exception, to Shift Leader or Data Processing Manager

    Maintain computer centre environment clean and air-conditioned at the right temperature.
  • Monitor all systems 24/7
  • Ensure reports are available on DataStore timely for business consumption
  • Complete daily/weekly/monthly checklists for all routine processes
  • Verify data integrity by executing predefined system activities
  • Conducting routine systems clean ups and other database/file management activities to ensure optimum system performance.
  • Participate in project/change implementations as directed by Shift Leader.
  • Collect and compile statistical information on system performance as directed by team leader.
  • Ensure proper system replication is in place between PROD and DR
  • Proper GEN/UPS readings are monitored and where there are faults, reported and followed through

Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • Degree in Information Systems/Technology.
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience in a similar role.

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise

  • The incumbent should be working towards the achievement of a recognised Degree in Information Systems/Technology.
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of ORACLE/Microsoft Operating Systems with certification in at least one of these.
  • Knowledge of Finacle and related systems including but not limited to ControlM, TBMS.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the Banking /Financial industry would be an advantage
